Senior Site Engineer (12939)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and well organised senior site engineer with strong leadership skills to join our South Wales regional construction site engineering team.
The successful candidate will be site based and have overall responsibility for controlling the site engineering and technical aspects of construction works whilst implementing a strict regime for controlling quality. Duties will also include participation in the management of health and safety and environmental control of site operations.
What you will be doing
- Ensuring that the project works comply with the requirements of the contract specification and drawings etc. and maintaining appropriate records to confirm such compliance;
- Maintaining excellent and effective working relationships with the customer and their representatives/advisors;
- Implementing the Company's strategy and Policies for Sustainability, Health and Safety, Quality, Environmental, Training and Development etc. and acting as an exemplar of the Company culture and values;
- Implementing the Companies Business Management System;
- Being proactive in the identification and resolution of problems;
- Supporting initiatives to deliver ongoing continuous improvement;
- Line management responsibilities including the undertaking of annual appraisal and development for junior members of staff;
- Any other duties relevant to the role.
What we will need from you
- Appropriate technical knowledge and main contractor construction experience (essential)
- Degree (or similar equivalent) in a relevant construction subject (preferred)
- Site Safety Management Training Scheme (SMSTS) qualification; Appropriate CSCS Card (essential)
- Comprehensive experience in a similar role as a Senior Site Engineer (essential)
- Appropriate technical background
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use own initiative and apply logical and critical thinking
- Robust analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to plan and manage time
- Strong attention to detail
