Senior Project Manager (12997)
The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead projects valued up to £40m within our Regional Building team. You’ll take full responsibility for project success, covering client relationships, pre-construction, bidding, health & safety, quality, environmental performance, programme delivery, and commercial outcomes.
Current Project: HMP Wormwood Scrubs Prison. Pre-construction works are underway, with the main build scheduled to start in February 2026.
What you will be doing
- Support tender processes, including programmes, methodology, and quality/safety/environmental plans.
- Prepare and manage construction phase programmes, ensuring accurate progress and completion reporting.
- Lead the preparation and implementation of Quality, Safety, and Environmental Plans
- Oversee requisition and procurement of labour, plant, and materials within tender allowances.
- Manage project and site teams, delegating tasks effectively and making informed decisions.
- Ensure compliance with specifications, company policies, and business management procedures.
- Monitor project financials, including variances, forecasts, and cost control, working with the QS team.
- Maintain and develop strong client and stakeholder relationships to secure repeat business.
- Promote a positive company image and proactive approach to customer care and the environment.
- Build and motivate project teams, encouraging collaboration, respect, and professional growth.
- Develop supply chain partnerships and contribute to continuous improvement across the business.
What we need from you
- Relevant Building qualification
- Degree (or equivalent) in appropriate subject (desirable)
- Chartered status or approaching/Professional qualification (desirable)
- Appropriate CSCS Card
- Have experience of working within a Project Management capacity working on projects of a similar value and sector type
- High level of leadership and management skills
- Commercial and financial ability
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Technical experience and knowledge
