Mechanical Project Engineer (13103)

We are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join Tilbury Douglas Engineering to join our team and play a key role in the successful delivery of projects across the South West & Cornwall.

This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of the mechanical delivery across a diverse portfolio of projects. Working collaboratively with design teams, supply chain partners and project teams, you will coordinate the procurement, installation and delivery of mechanical packages from design through to completion.

With a strong focus on offsite manufacture, modularisation and digital delivery, you will help ensure mechanical works are fully coordinated and delivered safely, efficiently, on programme, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key Duties

  • Lead the coordination and delivery of all mechanical engineering activities, ensuring designs are fully integrated using BIM and digital tools.
  • Manage the procurement, technical review and administration of mechanical equipment, subcontractors and suppliers, driving quality, value and innovation throughout the supply chain.
  • Oversee mechanical installation works, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation, technical standards, project specifications and quality requirements.
  • Monitor programme, cost and progress of mechanical works, supporting successful project delivery through effective planning, reporting and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Carry out factory inspections, quality audits and quality assurance activities, maintaining high standards of workmanship and supporting successful project completion.

About You

You will be a technically strong Mechanical Project Engineer with experience delivering mechanical engineering projects within a construction or manufacturing environment.

You will bring:

  • Experience managing mechanical engineering activities, including procurement, installation and supplier coordination.
  • Strong technical knowledge with experience using BIM and digital engineering tools.
  • Commercial awareness and the ability to manage programmes, costs and quality effectively.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, analytical and communication skills.
  • An HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering is desirable, along with professional membership, SMSTS and a relevant CSCS card.
